The Roots of Anjali
The word Anjali (अञ्जलि) comes from the Sanskrit root anj- meaning “to honor.” Anjali is a gesture of prayer and respect, where the palms are joined; it is also a gesture used within the Hindu context to greet and offer reverence, reflecting devotion to traditions. Symbolically, it is a mudra, a gesture that represents the return to oneself; the return to calm; to being and our essence. Anjali Mudra represents an attitude of respect towards oneself and others, a gesture of humility and connection. The joining of the hands symbolizes the union of the brain hemispheres, the integration of body and mind, and the connection between the individual and the universal.

Asanas
The word ASANA means “seat” or “way of being.” In the practice of yoga, asanas are physical postures that allow us to inhabit the body with awareness, presence, and stability. Each posture is an invitation to internal listening, to the connection between body, mind, and breath. It’s not about achieving a perfect form, but about exploring with respect and attention. Through asanas, we cultivate balance, strength, flexibility, and serenity, creating space for integral well-being and self-encounter.
